GEMBox deployment normally requires some software configuration work for the specific machine type, and possibly also some software adaptations. Furthermore the equipment control system should be adapted to communicate with GEMBox and to fulfill some specific GEM standard requirements, e.g. regarding operator interface functions. This work is carried out by PDF Solutions in cooperation with the equipment manufacturer.
Design, construction and deployment of a GEMBox implementation generally shows the following phases:
- Configuration design
Together with the customer we verify which GEM capabilities and which other capabilities (e.g. Stream 12 wafer mapping support, or Stream 13 Data Set Transfer) will be supported by the new GEMBox version.
Development of the complete GEMBox software package. It is expected that during the same period customer will realize the agreed control system adaptations.
- Integration test
Integration of control system and GEMBox at the customer’s site, using a real machine and simulated host software, provided for the test by PDF Solutions. When necessary, this is followed by on-site rework of the software and retest.
- End-user documentation
PDF Solutionsprovides full end-user documentation, as required by the applicable SEMI standards.
- On-going support
After completion of the GEMBox implementation, PDF Solutions provides on-going support to assist with problems and to make small adaptations. This support can for instance include:
- Support to equipment manufacturer during pre-sales phase (reviewing requirement specification documents; addressing customer-specific adaptations, etc.)
- Assistence with customer acceptance tests
- Integration support at customer site
- Integration support by phone, fax or e-mail
